Saliena Town / History

Saliena was first established on 25 August 1999.

Swedish Ostermalm Property Investment Fund AB became the sole owner of Saliena on 17 May 2005, with a long-term investment view of the project.

The first phase of residential development is almost complete, with 150 houses built so far, and 170 houses planned for Phase 1.

In 2005 Saliena built and opened daughter company Ostby, the largest and most modern factory in the Baltics for producing wooden prefabricated houses. Ostby has successfully implemented high-quality projects in Latvia, Norway, Sweden and Iceland.

Saliena Golf opened in 2005. In 2011 Swiss company Divertimento AG purchased Saliena Golf and its adjacent land plots. They plan to upgrade the golf course, create a luxury Clubhouse, and build a high quality residential development around the golf course. 

In 2007 Saliena formed a strategic partnership with Norwegian Linstow Group, the market leader for retail development in Latvia. In September 2007 and April 2008 Linstow Group purchased Saliena land plots on which to develop the largest retail and entertainment complex in the Baltics.

The infrastructure for Saliena Business Park was completed in 2008.
